Former board member and SFC contributing founder Noel Boyd dies aged 81
We are deeply saddened to announce the passing of former board member vice-chairman and SFC contributing founder, Noel Boyd. Noel passed away October 6, 2021, with his family by his side.
Jim Anderson, Chairman of the Board said, “It’s with great sadness that I announce the passing of our friend Noel Boyd. Noel was a contributing founder of SFC Bank and served as board member vice-chairman for over 10 years. We are thankful for his outstanding leadership, friendship, guidance, and wisdom. He will be greatly missed by the SFC family, banking industry, and his community.”
“Noel continuously upheld the SFC values of trust, collaboration, inclusion, and community. He was instrumental in the founding of SFC Bank in 2008. We are especially thankful for the passion he carried in his heart for SFC and financial education of our community. Noel served on the boards of many successful financial institutions in Missouri including: The Signature Bank, The Bank, Empire Bank, Pleasant Hope Bank, Bank of Bolivar, Front Range Bank, and Trust Company of the Ozarks. Noel was generous with his leadership, as is he served as a past chair and board member of the Ozark Empire Fair Foundation, and Missouri State University Foundation Trustee. In December 2019, SFC Bank dedicated the bank lobby to Noel Boyd to honor his contributions to the organization and greater Springfield community.
